On the site of the planned house, there is a building that we were forced to demolish due to poor construction and poor program layout. The simple single-storey apartment house consists of two smaller, slightly offset cubes that act as two smaller houses that crash with each other. Cubes are reserved and unpretentious. Two programmatically separated volumes with contact with the garden and tree canopy connected via large glass surfaces. The windows blur the dimension between the exterior and the interior and give a feeling of spaciousness. A simple design that offers contact with the garden through all rooms except the service rooms.
At the request of the clients, the separation of the cubes itself also dictated the programmatic division of the building. Daytime living quarters in one and sleeping quarters with service rooms in the other. In addition to the horizontal offset, the two objects are also offset vertically. Separated by 6 steps. Between the two cubes is an entrance that visually and programmatically nicely separates the two parts. Two-height open spaces give a feeling of spaciousness and freedom. The main guideline in the design of the house was the views and the direct connection to the outdoor garden. All rooms, with the exception of the service areas, have direct access to the lawn and open views of the surroundings. By walking through the house, we have the feeling that we are walking through the garden.
