For this project, we designed a comprehensive exterior system that combines a carport, a garden shed, and a cover for the outdoor unit of the air conditioner. The program units are designed as a functional and aesthetically harmonious set that ties in with the existing building in its architectural logic.
The existing building dictated the orientation, proportions, and choice of materials, which were transformed into a subtle addition to the house with a minimalist approach.
The construction of the canopy and shed is defined by a flat roof, finished with a layer of gravel that ensures effective drainage. The exterior is clad in anthracite-colored metal panels that provide high resistance to weathering and long-lasting durability. In contrast to the exterior, the interior of the canopy is finished in white and lined with wood, which adds a pleasant ambiance to the space.
The cover for the outdoor unit of the air conditioner is designed as a metal perforated structure that allows for sufficient ventilation and efficient operation of the unit. We upgraded it with a green roof that not only prevents overheating but also contributes to a better microclimate and visual harmonization with the garden.
